Supporting A Brave Mother

Support a Brave Mother & Her Children in Their Time of Need

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are reaching out on behalf of a courageous Hindu mother, Devi (name changed for safety), who is currently facing an overwhelming crisis here in the United States. After surviving over 20 years of severe domestic abuse, Devi made the brave decision to leave her abusive marriage to protect herself and her two children — a 17-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son.

While she has filed for divorce and obtained an order of protection, her journey toward healing and stability is just beginning. Her husband has completely abandoned the family, leaving them without any financial support, and Devi is now their sole provider — emotionally, physically, and financially.

To make matters even more challenging, Devi has recently been diagnosed with progressive angina, a serious and life-threatening heart condition. Her son is also battling chronic gastrointestinal issues that require ongoing monthly medical care. Without health insurance or any stable income, they are struggling to cover even their most basic needs.

Their Most Urgent Need: Housing Assistance

The family’s immediate and critical need is rent support. Their monthly rent is $1,500, and they are at serious risk of eviction and homelessness. To provide a buffer of stability during this time of crisis, we are initially raising $4,500 — the equivalent of 3 months’ rent.

All funds raised will go directly to the rental office to ensure secure housing. Additional donations will support the family’s medical needs, basic living expenses, and health-related emergencies.

Devi and her children are originally from Andhra Pradesh/Telangana and have no local family or financial support. Your donation is more than financial aid — it’s a lifeline. It’s hope. It’s dignity. It’s a chance for this family to rebuild their lives after unimaginable suffering.
